High Voltage make upgrade kits with the ASI family of BAC controllers for a growing range of Light Electric Vehicle motors. Currently we have a upgrade kit for the Bafang BBSHD and BBS02 motors. Our new kit for the Bafang Ultra / G510 motor is in advanced user testing. Development work for the Lightning Rods Big Block motors is nearing the final stages with in house testing over winter.

Controllers By Accelerated Systems

Our kits use the ASI BAC family of controllers. These range from the compact but powerful ASI BAC855 right up to the mighty BAC8000 which is capable of pushing 800 phase amps. These are sophisticated FOC based motor controllers that deliver power to the motor smoothly and efficiently. As ASI authorized dealers you can be assured that products bought from High Voltage are of high quality and come with full customer support.

Wiring Looms and Connectors

One of the most common causes of issues with upgrade kits is the quality of the wiring looms. One mistake or bad crimp can lead to huge frustration for both us and you the customer. All wiring looms and connectors are of the highest quality and are thoroughly tested before they are they shipped out. We are looking to add a customer wiring service where you can specify exactly what lengths you require to avoid having a rats nest of excess cabling!

Development & Innovation

High Voltage have a huge amount of technical ability on tap and we use this to innovate our way out of challenges that arise. The Eggrider V2 display 72 volt dongle as well as gaskets and temperature monitoring probes are just a few of the items we have developed to make products more user friendly and reliable. We have several custom electronics projects on the go which which allow us to offer custom harnesses made to order as well as allow for the first fully functional upgrade of the Bafang Ultra motor with ASI controllers.

What about the Eggrider?

The eggrider has been upgraded significantly recently to include new features for ASI controllers including the ability to adjust field weakening. We would like High Voltage kit users to be able to use this display if they choose so we have a few Eggrider displays undergoing testing. Like with the 500c display the Eggrider is limited to 52 volt batteries. There are workarounds for 72 volts and we are currently exploring those.

Optional Extras / Upgrades

PEEK gear (optional) - Replace the Nylon gear in the BBSHD with a PEEK gear. This will allow you to run the BBSHD safely at higher temperatures.

Thermistor based Temperature sensing

The latest upgrade to the High Voltage BBSHD kit. This does something that both Bafang and all other upgrade kits for this motor have been unable to implement. It is set up for Peek gear protection limits. It will start decreasing power starting at 60C (140F) and shut off the motor at 80C (176F). This feature is on all harnesses post 12/7/2021. The harness will have a little ring style 10K NTC thermistor temperature sensor attached by the hall/PAS sensor connector. You will need to mount this as shown in the picture below for best temperature sensing. Use one of the 4 motor mounting screws to hold it in place.

All Our Kits Are Thoroughly Tested!

All upgrade kits are thoroughly tested during manufacturing before they are shipped out. We have seen the consequences of poor qualify control and the last thing we need is a missed crimp costing both you the customer and us the manufacturer time and resources. The kits are hooked up to an actual Bafang motor and all functionality verified before they are shipped out.

Customer Service / Discord

Our customer service goes way beyond the minimum requirements of helping with the kit itself. You will be able to get advice on everything from frame selection to gearing. There are many riders with the High Voltage BBSHD upgrade kits who are only too happy to share there experience and expertise.

The High Voltage customer service platform is on Discord. This is an online platform that can be easily accessed via any cellphone or pc. The best experience comes with the phone or desktop application. A regular internet browser window will also work.

We require customers using the High Voltage kit to use the Discord customer service platform. We are not a massive organization and this platform ensures that we are able to respond and resolve customer issues and questions quickly.

If there is a specific reason why you are not able to use the discord platform please get in touch. Although it might feel annoying to have to install another app we firmly believe that you will appreciate both the online support and wider community.

Please note that as authorized ASI dealers all product support is provided by High Voltage. ASI will not support High Voltage customers directly. In the unlikely event of an issue which requires ASI technical expertise, High Voltage will undertake that communication with ASI on the customers behalf.

Availability / Waiting List! / No Deposits

The High Voltage upgrade kit for the BBSHD is a popular product and takes time to make right. If there is no stock showing as available we are happy to take your details and will be in touch in a first come first served basis. The current wait time is approximately 4 weeks. We do not require s deposit or pre-payment for the kits. Payment will only be accepted once a kit has been manufactured, tested and is ready to go out of the door.
